Ballroom, Rhythm & Swing Dance Instructor
Amy Tranchida brings 38 years of experience, a diverse dance background, and a great sense of humor to her classes. She has been classically trained for 16 years in ballet, tap, and jazz dance. She was a member of the Romeo Civic Ballet Company for 6 years and Amy has also studied and instructed African Dance at Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona.
Currently, Amy teaches eighteen Ballroom and Rhythm dance styles — Waltz, Tango, Argentine Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Night Club Two-Step, Polka, Country Two-Step, and Hustle — and also offers Latin Dance Workout classes.
Beyond her group and private lessons, she often works with wedding couples and wedding parties, guest teaches at dance intensives, holds workshops at private or corporate events, and is hired for choreography for numerous performance projects.
As a dancer and dance instructor, Amy shares her passion and respect for the art form. She helps students to discover the joy of movement and the fun of building new skills. Her teaching method is supportive, celebratory, and thorough. She offers the tips and techniques to ensure student progress and build life long learning.
